Celebrating Dr. Brian Wattenberg: A New Chapter for the MSTP Community
Dr. Brian Wattenberg is appointed as the Interim Director of VCU School of Medicine’s MD/PhD Program.
Congratulations to Dr. Brian Wattenberg, affectionately known as Dr. Binks, who was recently appointed as the Interim Director of the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) at VCU School of Medicine! Since joining the former Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2018 as an associate professor, Dr. Wattenberg has made waves in the field and is now a professor in the Department of Cellular, Molecular, and Genetic Medicine. With over 20 years of experience supporting MD/PhD trainees at both VCU and the University of Louisville, Dr. Wattenberg brings a deep commitment to mentoring the next generation of physician-scientists. This is an incredible milestone not just for Dr. Wattenberg, but for the entire MSTP community.
Dr. Wattenberg is not just a leader; he’s a passionate mentor who believes that the heart of research lies in collaboration and support.
